Simple Strategies To Boosting Your Confidence And Unlocking Your Greatness
We all feel under the weather sometimes, and that’s perfectly okay. But sometimes, low self esteem can get pretty stubborn. Sometimes, you get so stuck in thinking low of yourself, that you just aren’t able to break that cycle. If left on its own, the condition can get pretty debilitating pretty quick. And before you know it, all the things that you could do with your eyes closed before seem impossible now.
A Confident Approach To Life Is Necessary For Success
This is certainly not a life you want to live. Constantly doubting your potential and abilities puts you in a stagnant state where you are unable to follow your dreams. You give up on a new challenge before you even try – because you are convinced that you would fail.
On the other hand, a confident person tries – and achieves – much more than you would ever dream for yourself. Sometimes, it is not what you do but how confidently you do it that grants you a win. Whether it is a job interview, a first date, or even bargaining at the market – a confident approach to life is a necessity for success.
What Can You Do To Give Your Self Esteem A Quick Boost?
But how do you begin to achieve that when you are stuck in a rut of self doubt? How do you convince yourself of your potential when you feel worthless? Well, this is what today’s blog will be about.
Today, I will talk about my favourite pick me ups when I am not feeling too sure of myself. Incorporating these strategies in your daily routine is easy, simple, effective, and prevents you from ever questioning your worth again. And though it is not an overnight trick for a confidence boost, practicing these steps regularly is sure to keep your morale high. Let’s begin.
1. Take a break from all the negativity around you
A very likely reason that you are feeling unsure of yourself is because you are constantly being told what you cannot do. Be it family, friends, or people we follow on social media – we are surrounded by negative people who are perpetually questioning our talents in a subtle way. From a “You’re really wearing THAT to the wedding?!” to “Let me help you with your makeup for your date” – these comments may appear to be helpful at the first glance but can significantly bring our confidence down.
If you notice someone around you who tends to treat you in this patronizing way a lot, it’s time to let them go. Distancing yourself from their negativity will do wonders for your self esteem.
2. Understand that failure is not where things should end
Sometimes, it is the failures that we have encountered in the past that have us feeling low. If you find this relatable, then make yourself understand this is not where things should end.
Each one of us is guaranteed to hit a few bumps along the road – that’s just how life is. But if you start to dwell over all the times you have tripped over these bumps, this is where it starts to go wrong.
Instead of overthinking about your shortfalls, look at them as an opportunity to learn. Dissect your screw ups and understand what exactly caused them. Then, equipped with this new knowledge, try your luck again.
3. Be mindful of what you are communicating subconsciously
When you are not feeling too great about yourself and nothing seems to work, it is worthwhile to just appear confident. Even if you are nervous as a patient on the operating table about to go through some major surgery, looking self assured and poised can often do the trick.
However, when you are faking confidence, it is important that you do it right. Be mindful of your facial expressions and your body language. Any fidgeting, nervous smiles, or tapping your feet subconsciously can give away how anxious you actually feel about the situation.
4. Lace yourself up with whatever ammunition you can
The perfect way to make yourself confident about a particularly challenging situation is preparing yourself for it. If there is a demanding task that you are expecting to face in the near future, the best thing to do is to work out the solutions beforehand. Lace yourself up with whatever ammunition you can before you go to battle.
Let’s say that you are going for an important job interview. Before the date arrives, educate yourself up on the company that you are applying at. What are their core values, what they expect from their employees, and the reasons why they would be glad to have you. Knowing all of this before you step into the intimidating atmosphere of the interview room will give you an air of confidence that is impossible to match.
5. Remind yourself of all the reasons that you should be proud of yourself
When all else fails, it is time to bring up your achievements from the past. Give yourself a pep talk every morning to let yourself know what you are capable of. Sit down with a pen and paper and list all the things that you are proud of achieving. These simple reminders are sometimes all you need to get that quick confidence boost that you need to face a difficult situation. More Blogs
