Why You Should Celebrate Success
It’s time to celebrate! Celebrate what you ask? Your accomplishments. You may celebrate others all the time when they achieve a goal, but what about you? As a boss, you may sometimes forget to celebrate your achievements. Here are some reasons to celebrate successes.
Your Mindset
When you don’t celebrate successes, your subconscious slowly starts to develop a negative mindset. You don’t focus on what you have accomplished, but instead, dwell on what you haven’t accomplished. At that point, you start getting burned out.
You can combat that mindset by celebrating your successes! Celebrating gives you positive emotions that carry into your next accomplishment.
Develops a Success Mindset
By celebrating your accomplishments, you set yourself up as a winner. One success means more successes, it’s a snowball effect! This is the good part; perception starts to become a reality!
When you reach that important milestone, don’t just move on to the next thing on your list, spend some time reflecting on your success and then celebrate it.
Builds Confidence
Celebrating sends yourself a message that you can accomplish whatever you set out to do. This boosts your confidence level! It keeps you from giving other people credit for your work or downplaying your achievements. Celebrating gives you the confidence that you did it and now you can do it again.
Acknowledging what you did keeps you motivated. When you don’t acknowledge your victories, even if they are small, you start to feel hopeless. Celebrating keeps you motivated so you stay on track.
You Feel Happy
When you accomplish something, you have been working towards and celebrate, you feel happier. Your brain release endorphins and you feel good and you want more! You feel more energized and you project happiness which means everyone else feels it too.
Endorphins are the same chemical that gets people hooked on nicotine, gambling, and drinking. So why not put them to better use and get hooked on success!
Celebrate the Small Successes
It may feel silly to celebrate small successes because you don’t feel like it’s an achievement. You may think why should I celebrate working out 3 days this week or losing 2 lbs.? But here’s the thing, you are celebrating because you are acknowledging a successful change in your habits. You are reinforcing success and becoming addicted to how it feels!
