I know you feel out of control, stressed out, and fearful of what is happening in the world. It is a crazy time. So this is when I tell you to BREATHE…yes, I know it sounds cliche, but it works, Stop, take in 3 very deep breaths, and if you have a Fitbit on, watch your blood pressure begin to lower. You are beginning to tame anxiety and fear. When we breathe, we are telling certain nerves to take you out of fight and flight mode. Then you can begin to think straight again.
When we are in Fight and Flight mode, you know that monkey brain, where you are so stressed out you can’t think straight, you know that brain where suddenly you want to stop because you are mentally paralyzed. The only way to control and tame anxiety and fear is to take control of it.
We can’t always control external life happenings, but we can control ourselves and how we react to things. When you are calmer, you are able to think straighter, and you can make better decisions.
This is a time for your creativity to come through, to read those personal growth books and plan your next chapter. I know, you’re like… my next chapter? I haven’t even finished this chapter! But guess what, each new day is a new chapter, a fresh start, a new plan. Sometimes instead of starting those new chapters ourselves, we are forced into them. So be open, maybe you wanted to write that book, or start an online business, or even become a blogger on animals tricks, LOL The world is open to you. But you have to breathe, calm your mind and not live in fear. Live in the opportunity of change. Let change be your friend.
Fear breeds more fear, and it will become a self-fulfilling prophecy if you continue to live in fear. Harsh yes, but it is a reality. So stop and listen to your thoughts and begin moving towards a more positive way of looking at things. Write this quote down by Wayne dyer. “If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change” Ex: The glass is half full, not half empty. This is an opportunity to change your perspective and your mindset from negative to positive. Realize you do have control of your thoughts, instead of letting your thoughts control you.
When you live in the opportunity of change, you live without fear, you will take on changes with an open mind and an open heart.
Here are some daily tools to use, to begin to tame anxiety and fear.
- When you live in real gratitude, It’s hard to live in fear. Every day write down 3 things that you are truly grateful for, after writing them down, speak them out loud. REPEAT daily.
- Limit your time listening to news and social media. Without realizing it, it is creating negative behaviors and thoughts in your mind. Read a personal development book. Grow your mindset with books. Here are some great books by Wayne Dyer
- Watch comedy shows. It is true, laughter is the best medicine. Watch something funny daily.
- Do not talk to negative people, they will reinforce fear. and fear breeds fear. surround yourself with only positive minded people.
You do not have to live in fear, it is a choice. Instead of breeding fear, breed positivity. Both will become a ripple effect. Take this time and create an opportunity to change. You can become an inspiration for others, be that strength that people are needing right now. YOU CAN DO This! You are stronger and more resourceful than you think you are.
